about the project
The concept for the linear courtyard is to create a series of spaces that function as a lobby, an outdoor classroom, a meeting room, a cafeteria and a break room. The experience of the courtyard is a series of rooms with samplings of diverse programs and gardens within one space. Each room, or garden is created by pushing the continuous ground plan up and down. This allows for a multitude of spaces and experiences where you can host a meeting under the dappled sun of a tree bosque, lay back in the grass and hear a bubbling water fountain, or even find your own private oasis for afternoon coffee surrounded by lush botanical gardens.
