10th Street Renovation
The 10th Street Renovation Project reimagines a key urban block in Downtown Sacramento, balancing the functional needs of adjacent businesses with an enhanced ecological and placemaking strategy. Designed in close collaboration with local business owners, the project introduces new café patios that expand restaurant seating and activate the street edge.
Once-overlooked parkway zones are now filled with California native plantings, contributing to urban biodiversity and reinforcing a sustainable streetscape. Custom lunch counters, designed in response to the vibrant site mural, feature laser-cut illustrations of native plants—hand-drawn by local artists Studio Tutto—creating a unique, tactile connection between art, ecology, and daily life.
This renovation reflects a thoughtful, place-based approach to urban revitalization, where design supports both community vitality and environmental resilience.
